Karen,
I love you so much and we all do more than you can imagine. Ed Kilbourne came to mind tonight...remember him from Jr and Sr High Assembly??...remember how we all cried because we didn't know how else to feel the love we felt for each other then? Well, it's the still the same only stronger. Hope you remember this song. Melanie

FRIEND OF MINE, FRIEND OF MINE, OH IT'S BEEN A LONG, LONG TIME
SINCE WE'VE SPENT THE NIGHT TOGETHER, BREAKIN BREAD AND DRINKIN WINE
FRIEND OF MINE, FRIEND OF MINE, IT ALL COMES BACK EACH TIME
I REMEMBER HOW YOU LOVED ME, FRIEND OF MINE

LONG AGO, I HEAR YOU WALKED ACROSS THE SEA
AND YOU KNOW, I'D HAVE TO SEE THAT TO BELIEVE
BUT EACH TIME MY BROKEN HEART CAN'T FIND THE SHORE
I SWEAR I SEE YOUR FOOTPRINTS FRIEND OF MINE

FRIEND OF MINE, FRIEND OF MINE, OH IT'S BEEN A LONG, LONG TIME
SINCE WE'VE SPENT THE NIGHT TOGETHER, BREAKIN BREAD AND DRINKIN WINE
FRIEND OF MINE, FRIEND OF MINE, IT ALL COMES BACK EACH TIME
I REMEMBER HOW YOU LOVED ME, FRIEND OF MINE

LATE ONE NIGHT, YOU HAD EATIN WITH YOUR FRIENDS
YOU SAID, NOW, THIS IS WHERE THE WORK BEGINS
WE'RE GONNA WORK AT LOVE, THE WORLD WILL KNOW US BY THIS SIGN
THEN YOU GAVE YOUR LIFE TO PROVE IT, FRIEND OF MINE

FRIEND OF MINE, FRIEND OF MINE, OH IT'S BEEN A LONG, LONG TIME
SINCE WE'VE SPENT THE NIGHT TOGETHER, BREAKIN BREAD AND DRINKIN WINE
FRIEND OF MINE, FRIEND OF MINE, IT ALL COMES BACK EACH TIME
I REMEMBER HOW YOU LOVED ME, FRIEND OF MINE

SO HERE WE ARE, CAN'T YOU FEEL THE TIES THAT BIND
AND HOLD US CLOSE, WITH ONE FAITH, ONE HEART, ONE MINE
HE LIGHTS THE WAY, JUST LIKE A CANDLE IN THE NIGHT
SHINING DOWN THE ROAD TO FREEDOM, FRIEND OF MINE

FRIEND OF MINE, FRIEND OF MINE, OH IT'S BEEN A LONG, LONG TIME
SINCE WE'VE SPENT THE NIGHT TOGETHER, BREAKIN BREAD AND DRINKIN WINE
FRIEND OF MINE, FRIEND OF MINE, IT ALL COMES BACK EACH TIME
I REMEMBER HOW YOU LOVED ME, FRIEND OF MINE

Karen, I found Kim's blog and yours through an email sent out by my High School Class. I am so sorry to hear of your sister's struggle with breast cancer and her death. It sounds like she was so brave and faithful throughout. My prayers are with you and your family. And now you, too, have this burden. I hope and pray that you will cope with all this well and that the Lord brings you through it. I know that you are confident that HE will. I will let Clark know about all of this. I know that he is aware of Kim's breast cancer, but I'm not sure he knows about you. His wife, Kelly, is also a breast cancer survivor. She was diagnosed 2 years ago in August. She had a bilateral mastectomy and chemo, & total hysterectomy . She has the "breast cancer gene" too, so we are praying for medical advances and research in this area for her and my 2 nieces.

Karen, I am so sorry to hear of all of your pain. You were always such a sweet girl, full of energy and joy and fun. I know you are still that way. I'm so glad to see that you have such a wonderful family of your own.

Lots of love,
Kelly Robertson Wilkins

Karen,

I am so sorry to read of the passing of your sister. I just want you to know that there is yet another family lifting yours up in prayer during this time! Also, I want you to know how blessed I have been to read your blog and Kim's. Your faith is such an encouragment and is a strong reminder to keep focused on the things that are truly important in this life! I pray that you will continue to gain strength so that you can focus on what is important in your life and that your family will continue to receive strength from the prayers that are being lifted up in your honor!

Much love!
Teena
